In 1953 January the 7th, I was born in Turkey in a village called Pinarbasi in Kayseri. And it appears I would not have come with a brush or a pencil in my hands. But it is said that I started to draw as soon as my hand touched the pencil. And since this day, I kept going on. It is initially on the walls, the tables, the chairs and also on my hands that I drew. Then, I remember to have taken care to fill the free places with my study books.

After my secondary studies made in Ankara and my higher studies, in Söke and Izmir, my drawing must have progressed, because the pages of the books was not enough for me any more. When I also started to draw on my sheets of examination, I noticed that certain professors like those of history, geography, physics and chemistry completely stripped of love for art, really did not approve that. As I did not want to remain where I was not approved, I left the Artistic College of Mithat Pasa, in my 3rd year in the section of mechanic modeling , and thus in 1973, I ended my studies.

Exactly 20 years later I join again with the studies. In 1993, while I was registered in the Academy of the Visual arts of Genk in Belgium, I was in fact a complete painter. Indeed, my military service, done in 1975 at the Officer School of Ankara- Anittepe in the workshop of painting, gave me a good formation. The break that I took in the Academy of Genk in the 3rd year, is always in hand in this year 2004...

Do the few paints which I sold, the few exposures which I presented give me the title of painter, I do not know ?... But I know that until the end of my life, I will continue to draw and paint with an amateur spirit...
